What is life? What is the meaning of life?

Life in itself is meaningless. It's we, ourselves, who give meaning to life.

Why do we need to give meaning to life? Well,.. we want to be happy. We want to feel happy. That's why we give meaning to life by setting a purpose in life. And this is natural. In the stone age days, we worried abt staying alive - thus, protecting lives is our main purpose then. But now, with technology advancement, we live longer & basic survival is no longer a threat - thus, we needed a different purpose to cater for our natural urge for a purpose. That's where it gives us a lot of headache too. ;-)

In a nutshell, the sad truth is that no one can give u a meaning to life. Only u can find a purpose for yourself. On the contrary, the happy thing is that it empowers u to make yr own decision and be responsible for yr own success and failure. And this thought is intriguing - knowing we control our own fate!

What is true love? Is there true love?

"True love is so hard to find.. so please be gentle with this heart of mine.." think i heard tis song somewhere.. ;-)

Indeed, it's hard.. and tis often asked question is not easy to answer..

The definition of love itself, not questioning whether its true or false, is already hard enough to unravel.. Still, i will attempt to answer from my perspective.

Love is a strong, positive & lifting feeling towards something e.g. person, animal, things, etc... that arises & exists only in the mind. It can be a feeling that last eternally or it can be a short fleeing feeling that last only a second - come & go.. And usually, love is on the giving side of the relationship equation.

Most love requires external conditions to act on it before ones feel the feeling of love. Few love are unconditional - an example would be motherly love for her baby.

Some love requires time to nuture while others require only a spilt second.

So, is there true love? Well, whether true or not, is really in the eyes of the beholder! To make it easier, however, i would prefer to see true love as unconditional love.. One that doesnt requires external conditions - such as requiring someone to love u back in order for u to love him or her.. True love is unconditional. No need to trade with anything. Just loving and giving that someone or something the attention u think it deserves.

That's what i think what true love is.

And is there true love? A resounding yes! Like the mother & baby example i gave above.. it's possible to have true love. It can even be cultivated over time!

Do take some time to ponder over these ideas i've shared.. ;-)
